The all-on-4 procedure is gaining popularity as an alternative to traditional dentures and individual dental implants. The procedure works by replacing a complete arch of teeth in the top and/or bottom of a patient’s mouth. The prosthetic teeth are attached to four strategically placed dental implants. The procedure begins with the placement of the four implants in the jawbone. Implants are incredibly strong and secure. In addition, they replace the root of the missing tooth. Following the placement of the implants, the dentist attaches the prosthetic teeth.

All-on-4 Dental Implant Surgery
During the initial appointment, patients will meet with the dentist or oral surgeon to determine if they are a good candidate for the all-on-4 procedure. Most dental professionals place the implants and attach the prosthetic teeth in a single appointment.
During the surgery, the dentist will use a local or general anesthesia to ensure the patient is comfortable. The dentist will extract any teeth or infected gum tissue to prepare for the implants. Two implant screws will be placed towards the front of the mouth and two screws will be placed at an angle in the back of the mouth. In order to maintain all-on-4 dental implants, patients should practice good oral hygiene and continue making regular visits to the dentist. The prosthetic teeth should be brushed at least twice daily, just like the natural teeth. Follow all care instructions provided by the dentist.
