Children's Dentistry

It is a good idea to schedule a dental appointment for your child shortly after their first birthday, unless they are demonstrating pain or discomfort, in which case you should schedule an appointment as soon as possible. During their first appointment, our main priority is to make sure that they (and you) are calm and comfortable by using stress relieving methods like evoking laughter or playing games. When your child is comfortable and ready, we will evaluate their mouth by pressing their gums to look for indications of discomfort or anything unusual. This will also be an opportunity to ensure that they are meeting developmental milestones. If there are any areas of concern, it may be necessary to take further diagnostic exams. If not, you will have an opportunity to ask any questions or share any concerns, after which your child’s first appointment will be complete.

For older children, dental appointments will become more involved and include a thorough examination of their teeth, tongue, and cheeks. These visits will also include an inspection for any cavities that may have formed and a dental cleaning and/or placement of dental sealants. In addition to evaluating your child’s oral health, these appointments are also an opportunity for us to educate them on best oral health care practices, such as proper brushing and flossing techniques and the importance of eating healthy foods.

Adult Dentistry Support

Just like children, adults face unique oral health care needs that are specific to their age that require unique support. At Dental Serenity, we offer a range of oral health treatment options that uniquely impact older individuals, including periodontal therapy to prevent, correct, or reverse gum disease, cosmetic dental procedures to restore your smile back to a youthful state, and dental implants to replace missing teeth.

Regular Family Exams

In addition to providing services tailored to meet the specific oral health needs of all ages, we also support our family clients by providing regular dental checkups and cleanings. These appointments help ensure the sustained oral health of you and your family and provide us with an opportunity to develop a comprehensive file of your family’s oral health history, which will inform future treatment recommendations and ensure that your family receives informed care that is based on years of medical history and established relationships.

Emergency Dental Supports

Emergency situations can occur at any moment and so suddenly that it can be difficult to know whether or not immediate care is necessary. If you find yourself in a situation that may require emergency care, it is important to stay calm in order to properly assess your situation. If the pain you are experiencing is intensifying or becomes unbearable, or if you have lost a tooth or multiple teeth, it is likely that you should seek emergency care. If not, you may be able to hold off on emergency care until you can be seen by an oral health professional. If you find yourself in an emergency dental situation, contact our office even if the event occurs before or after regular office hours. If you are not able to contact our office, seek care at the nearest emergency room. Although it is best to be treated by a professional who specializes in these types of issues, it is more important to receive necessary care as quickly as possible.
